Scope

This standard specifies the headspace/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for determining the concentrations of chlorofluorocarbon-11 (CFC-11) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon-123 (HCFC-123) in liquid refrigerants. This standard is applicable to the determination of the mass fractions of CFC-11 and HCFC-123 in liquid refrigerants, but not to the determination of the purity of CFC-11 and HCFC-123. When the sampling amount is 0.5 g, the method detection limits of CFC-11 and HCFC-123 are 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively, and the determination limits are 2.0% and 1.6%, respectively.
