Scope
This standard specifies a general method for determining the alkalinity of surfactants by titration.
This standard is applicable to solutions, pastes, or powders of surfactants, and is used to determine the alkalinity of surfactants in the form of carbonates, bicarbonates, hydroxides, or free organic bases such as triethanolamine.
This method is only applicable when specified in the specific standards of certain products, and is not suitable for products containing soap.
