Planting Environment The planting environment shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 391. 3.1 Soil Conditions The soil should be loose and fertile, rich in organic matter, free from salinity and alkalinity, with a deep layer of soil and good drainage. It should be a sandy loam or light loam soil with good permeability. 3.2 Irrigation Conditions The land should be flat, with irrigation and drainage systems in place. It can be irrigated with water from the Yellow River (or well water) and equipped with drip irrigation systems. 4. Preparation 4.1 Seedling Preparation - Variety selection: Choose high-quality, disease-resistant, and storage-friendly varieties that are registered for non-major crops and suitable for growing in Bayannur City. - Seedling preparation: Use 50-hole seedling trays in greenhouses, greenhouses with connecting structures, or plastic greenhouses. Before planting, soak the trays in a 50% multi-fungicide solution (500 times dilution) or 1000 times dilution of potassium permanganate for disinfection. - Substrate preparation: Use high-quality commercial seedling substrates, mixed in a strictly disinfected clean area. After stacking for 8-10 hours, fill the trays. - Seed treatment: - Soak the seeds in 55°C warm water for 15 minutes, then soak in 30°C water for 4-6 hours and remove the surface mucus. - Soak the seeds in 1% potassium permanganate solution or 500 times dilution of multi-fungicide for 15-20 minutes, followed by rinsing 3-4 times with room temperature water and soaking for 4-6 hours. - After soaking, wrap the seeds in a clean towel or wet cotton cloth to ensure even heating and looseness, and place them at 28-30°C for germination.
