Scope

The technical requirements of this standard are divided into a very low frequency-low frequency (VLF-LF) lightning location system, which mainly monitors ground flash activities, and a very high frequency (VHF) lightning radiation source detection and location system, which mainly monitors cloud flash activities. This standard is applicable to lightning detection and location equipment used in lightning observation operations, as well as the construction and operation of regional and national lightning monitoring networks.
