Scope

This standard specifies the definition of steel for heavy-haul railway turnouts, the method of designating steel grades, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking and quality certificates, etc. This standard applies to billet and steel rails for alloy steel turnouts used on heavy-haul railways where the train speed does not exceed 160km/h. Other turnout steels can also refer to this standard.
