Scope

This standard specifies a high-performance liquid chromatography method for determining the content of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, pentachlorophenol, and sulfachlorophenol in cosmetics.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, pentachlorophenol, and sulfachlorophenol in creams, emulsions, and liquid cosmetics.
The detection and quantification limits of this standard are as follows: the detection limit of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol is 1.5 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 5.0 mg/kg; the detection limit of pentachlorophenol is 1.5 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 5.0 mg/kg; the detection limit of sulfachlorophenol is 0.8 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 2.5 mg/kg.
