Scope

This standard specifies the test methods, result calculation, recovery rate and precision, and allowable deviations for the determination of the content of scopolamine, brucine, coniine, homoconine, neoconine, colchicine, atropine, strychnine, camptothecin, and ephedrine in cosmetics by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of scopolamine, brucine, coniine, homoconine, neoconine, colchicine, atropine, strychnine, camptothecin, and ephedrine in ointments, creams, lotions, and water-based cosmetics. The detection limit of this method for atropine is 5 μg/kg, and for homoconine and neoconine it is 7.5 μg/kg. For scopolamine, brucine, coniine, colchicine, strychnine, camptothecin, and ephedrine, the detection limit is 12.5 μg/kg. The quantification limit of this method for atropine is 12.5 μg/kg, and for homoconine and neoconine it is 25 μg/kg. For scopolamine, brucine, coniine, colchicine, strychnine, camptothecin, and ephedrine, the quantification limit is 50 μg/kg.
