Scope

Scope: This document specifies the yield targets, growing environment, variety selection, seedling propagation, greenhouse melon cultivation, open-field melon cultivation, and harvesting for watermelon cultivation in Qinghai Province. This document is applicable to the cultivation and management of watermelon in Qinghai Province. Main technical content: 8. Greenhouse melon cultivation technology 8.1 Planting 8.1.1 Planting time: The greenhouse cultivation period is from July to September. During the wintering process, the minimum temperature of the greenhouse facilities should not be lower than 4℃. The open-field cultivation period is from late April to early May in the Yellow River basin at an altitude of 1800m to 2200m. 8.1.2 Land preparation Before land preparation, spray 2% Bactericide for disinfection. After 5 days of disinfection, deep plowing, apply 50.00 kg/667m2 of compound fertilizer, rake and level the soil, make ridges and cover with plastic film. The ridge width should be 80cm, ridge height 15cm-20cm, and ridge spacing 40cm-60cm. The compound fertilizer should comply with GB/T 15063. 8.1.3 Transplanting The transplanting depth should be 3cm-5cm. Plant 2 rows per ridge with an inter-row spacing of 80cm, and water the transplanted seedlings thoroughly after transplanting. 8.2 Field management 8.2.1 Seedling supplementation When diseased seedlings, weak seedlings, or dead seedlings appear, strong seedlings should be selected and supplemented in time. 8.2.2 Irrigation After planting survives, control watering for 2 weeks during the flowering period and maintain soil moisture during the fruiting period. Water the plants 4-5 times during the entire growth period. 8.2.3 Fertilization After transplanting, apply a top dressing of 5.00 kg/667m2 to 10.00 kg/667m2 of compound fertilizer. During the flowering and fruit-setting periods, spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer every 20-30 days for 2-3 times. The compound fertilizer should
