Scope

This standard specifies the methods for determining the content of trace elements in high-purity silicon carbide using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
This standard is applicable to the determination of 16 elements, including aluminum, arsenic, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, mercury, potassium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, nickel, lead, sulfur, titanium, and zinc, in high-purity silicon carbide materials with a silicon carbide content greater than or equal to 99.9%. The determination ranges for each element are shown in Table 1 (expressed as mass fractions).
