Scope
Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions for rice cultivation and harvesting operations using ridge tillage farming, as well as sowing, mechanical harvesting, and other related activities. This document applies to rice mechanical operations in the Yonghe Irrigation District of Ningxia. Main Technical Content: 3. Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 3.1 **Fenlong (Ridge Tillage)** A farming method using non-continuous spiral drills or vertical spiral blades to cut and crush soil in a single pass, achieving full tillage depth of ≥25 cm. 3.2 **Fenlong Machines** Machines equipped with non-continuous spiral drills or vertical spiral blades capable of performing ridge tillage. 4 **Fenlong Tillage** 4.1 Technical Requirements The tillage depth should ≥25 cm, break through the plow layer, and result in a smooth, loose surface without over- or under-tillage. The tillage depth stability should ≥85%, and the crushed soil rate in the entire tillage layer (≤4 cm lumps) should ≥85%. 4.2 Machine Selection Self-propelled, trailed, or towed fenlong machines that have obtained the Agricultural Machinery Promotion Certificate are recommended. 4.3 Operating Methods Based on field conditions, either circular, shuttle, or strip-till methods can be used. 4.4 Pre-sowing Compaction After fenlong tillage, compact the soil with a roller before sowing to meet sowing quality requirements. 5 **Sowing** 5.1 Sowing Period Sow when the average temperature exceeds 10°C. Start in early May and finish by mid-May. 5.2 Sowing Methods Mechanical strip-sowing, hole-sowing, or broadcast sowing. Seeding and fertilization follow DB64/T735-2011. 5.3 Machine Selection Choose integrated fertilization and sowing machines that meet local agronomic requirements. 5.4 Operating Methods Start from one side of the field and use a shuttle method
