Scope

This standard specifies the structural design, performance requirements, test methods, and required test results of electric and electronic propeller shaft revolution indicators (hereinafter referred to as indicator systems) required by Article 19.2.5.4 of Chapter V of the SOLAS Convention 1974 (and its 2000 amendments).
This standard is used in conjunction with IMO Resolution A.694(17) and the IEC 60945 standard.
When there are inconsistencies between this standard and the IEC 60945 standard, this standard shall take precedence.
