Scope

This standard specifies the classification and basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, and packaging, transportation, and storage of hydrostatic balances.
This standard applies to hydrostatic balances (hereinafter referred to as balances) that, based on the principle of Archimedes' law, measure the difference between the mass of the object being measured in air and its mass when immersed in water, thereby determining the volume of the object and calculating its density (density > 1 g/cm3).
