Scope
Scope: This document specifies the technical content such as terms and definitions, general principles, survey content, and methods for the investigation of the current status of grasslands used in construction projects. This document applies to the investigation of the current status of grasslands used in construction projects. Main technical content: (1) Background research on the use of grasslands in the project, including interviews and surveys, on-site inspections, and investigation of the project's use of grasslands, the ecological red lines and natural protected areas (such as grassland parks and wetland parks) involved in the project area, and basic grassland information. The project area's climate, topography, vegetation, soil, and other natural conditions, as well as socioeconomic and livestock production overviews. (2) Determining the scope and area of grassland use by overlaying the project's survey and delineation data with the latest land survey database of the natural resources department. (3) Investigating grassland ownership by visiting contractors and verifying their ownership certificates. For unclear ownership, the county-level people's government's ownership certification materials shall prevail. (4) Conducting grassland characteristic surveys according to the NY/T 2997 and NY/T 2998 standards, including vegetation type, plant species composition, coverage, grass layer height, and productivity. The sample selection should reflect the characteristics of the grassland community. For point or block-shaped construction projects on the same grassland type, three to five samples shall be uniformly distributed for investigation. For linear projects with significant topographic variation and diverse vegetation types, first survey the entire route and then set up samples based on topography, grassland types, and administrative boundary changes, with no fewer than three samples per grassland type.
