Scope

This standard specifies a routine method for determining the activity of natural or artificial gamma-ray nuclides in marine sediments using a high-purity germanium (HPGe) gamma-ray spectrometer.
This standard is applicable to marine sediment samples in which the activity is higher than the detection limit and the gamma characteristic spectra of each nuclide can be resolved in the laboratory.
