Scope
This standard specifies the principles, devices, methods, and data processing for the absolute measurement of the emission rate of alpha particles using large-area flow-gas 2 π multi-wire proportional counters. This standard is applicable to alpha plane sources with an area not exceeding 170 mm × 130 mm, and an emission rate of alpha particles in the range of 1×10 s-1 to 1×104 s-1 (2 π sr). This standard can also be used as a reference for the measurement of beta particle emission rates.
