Scope

This document specifies a number of technical requirements for extending the bridge and its management beyond the physical entities in which they reside, involving the necessary equipment, protocols, processes, and management objects, etc.
This document is applicable to extending the bridge across multiple physical devices, or extending the MAC services of the bridge to virtual terminals, so that the expansion of the bridge ports is not constrained by physical entities, which can further increase the flexibility of network connections and save the cost of network deployment.
