Scope

This part of GB/T 25498 specifies an acoustic coupler used to measure the physical characteristics of hearing aids or headphones with specific acoustic impedance in the frequency range of 125 Hz to 8,000 Hz. This part is applicable to air-conduction hearing aids and headphones that are coupled into the human ear by insertion, such as ear molds or similar devices. Generally, the sound pressure generated by headphones in the coupler is not the same as that generated in the human ear, but it can be used as a simple and convenient method for the exchange of technical specifications and physical data of hearing aids, as well as for the calibration of specified insertion-type audiometry headphones. Note: The insertion-type headphones in this part are headphones that are coupled into the human ear by insertion.
