Scope

This document describes the method of measuring the rebound energy of chainsaws powered by gasoline engines and electric motors (including those powered by batteries) with guide bars and saw chains (hereinafter referred to as "chainsaws").
The test method described in this document has been proven to be an accurate measurement method for evaluating and calculating the rebound angle and rebound energy of chainsaws powered by electric motors (including those powered by batteries) and gasoline engines with a displacement of no more than 80 cm3 when they rebound. This document is not suitable for evaluating chainsaws with an engine displacement of more than 80 cm3. In addition, due to the size limitations of the rebound equipment structure, this document is not suitable for chainsaws with a cutting length of more than 63 cm.
The modifications to the method of determining rebound energy in this document are aimed at achieving better reproducibility of the results. The test results obtained according to the previous method are still valid.
