Scope
This standard specifies the basic technical requirements and general operating methods for instruments used to measure the air permeability of paper and cardboard (within a moderate range).
This standard applies to paper and cardboard with air permeability in the range of 1×10-2 μm/(Pa·s) to 1×102μm/(Pa·s).
This standard does not apply to paper and cardboard with rough surfaces, such as wrinkled paper and corrugated paper, as these types of paper are not easy to clamp firmly and are prone to leaks.
