Scope
Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for the production of seedless lychees, including site environment, orchard planning, planting, soil and water management, pruning, shoot control, flower and fruit thinning, pest and disease control, harvesting, storage, and transportation. This document applies to the production of seedless lychees. Main technical contents: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions requiring definition in this document. 2. Site environment: 2.1 Environmental requirements: Select an ecological environment with rich organic matter, close to water sources, easy to irrigate, and convenient for drainage. The site should be open, sunny, and have convenient transportation. The altitude should be between 700 m and 1000 m. 2.2 Climate conditions: Tropical and subtropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 20°C to 23°C, an average frost-free period of less than 5 days, and an average annual rainfall of 1000 mm to 1500 mm. 2.3 Soil conditions: The soil should have good texture, a groundwater level of less than 1 m, good water and fertilizer retention, and a pH of 5.0 to 6.5. 3. Orchard planning: a) Establish a protective forest belt around the orchard, selecting fast-growing species that are not susceptible to the common diseases and pests of lychees. b) Rationally plan sub-zones: For gentle slopes, the area of each sub-zone should be 3 ha to 7 ha; for hilly and mountainous areas, the area of each sub-zone should be 1 ha to 2 ha. c) Build terraced platforms along contour lines, with the outer side lower than the inner side. Drainage ditches should be set up on the inner side, and the slope of the terrace walls should be 60° to 80°. d) Establish a complete drainage and road system, including flood control ditches and drainage ditches, and main roads, branch roads, and working roads, which should run through the entire orchard. e) Each sub-zone should be equipped with a 100 m3 to 200 m3 water tank
