Basic Information
Scope
GB/T 28170 defines a software system that integrates network-capable 3D graphics and multimedia. Conceptually, each X3D application is a time-based three-dimensional space, which consists of graphical and auditory objects that can be dynamically modified through various mechanisms. This section defines the architecture and basic components of X3D.
The semantics of X3D describe an abstract functional behavior of time-based, three-dimensional interactive multimedia information. This section does not define physical devices or any other implementation-related concepts (such as screen resolution and input devices). This section is intended to be applicable to as wide a range of devices and applications as possible, and to provide as much flexibility as possible in the interpretation and implementation of functions. For example, this section does not assume that a mouse or a two-dimensional display device must exist.
