Scope
This standard specifies the method of measuring the thermoelectric motive force of precious metal thermocouple wires at the melting points of gold (1064.18 °C), palladium (1554.8 °C), and platinum (1773 °C) using the fuse method.
This standard is applicable to the measurement of precious metal thermocouple wires with diameters ranging from 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm. The measurement of the thermoelectric motive force of thermocouple wires at the melting points of various pure metals can also be carried out with reference to this standard.
