Scope

This standard specifies the method of measuring the thermoelectric motive force of precious metal thermocouple wires at the melting points of gold (1064.18 °C), palladium (1554.8 °C), and platinum (1773 °C) using the fuse method.
This standard is applicable to the measurement of precious metal thermocouple wires with diameters ranging from 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm.
