Scope: This document specifies the selection of suitable growing environments, variety selection, land preparation, seedling cultivation, transplanting, field management, timely harvesting, and production management archives for high-yield cultivation of Codonopsis odorosa. This document is applicable to Codonopsis odorosa cultivation; Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 1.1 Codonopsis odorosa (Latin name: Codonopsis foetens Hook. f. et Thoms), also known as stinky medicine, stinky partyhen, orchid partyhen, and Hu Mao Yanghen, is a perennial deciduous vineous plant with roots that have a distinctive odor. 1.2 Hit the shelf: Refers to the process of guiding the stems and vines to a shelf made of bamboo or branches. 1.3 Pendant: The process of manually arranging and straightening the stems and vines of field crops in a unified direction. 2. Selection of growing environments: Select plots with deep soil layers, fertile soil, and good physical and chemical properties, with a slope less than 20° and a north- or northeast-facing shaded or semi-shaded slope, a pH value of 5.5–6.5, and an altitude of 1800–2500 m. Rotation farming is required, and root and tuber crops such as Solanaceae and Dioscoreaceae should not be grown as preceding crops. The soil environmental quality must comply with GB 15618, and irrigation water for farmland must comply with GB 5084. 3. Variety selection: Select seeds that are free from diseases, pests, and rodents, with full and shiny seeds. 4. Land preparation: 4.1 Plowing: Plow the land two months before transplanting, remove weeds, tree roots, and gravel, and expose the soil to sunlight for about 15 days.
