Scope

This document applies to biodegradable plastic materials used in the production of geomembranes or intended for use in agriculture and horticulture geomembranes.
This document specifies the test methods and evaluation criteria by discussing the following characteristics:
a) Component control;
b) Biodegradability;
c) Negative impact on terrestrial organisms.
Note: This document is used to evaluate other soil-degradable plastic products that do not meet the requirements for geomembranes, such as drip irrigation tapes, hanging vine ropes, clips, and seedling pots.
