Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of heat distribution testing for food thermal sterilization equipment, the principle of heat distribution testing, the instruments for heat distribution testing, the preparatory work before heat distribution testing, the recording of heat distribution test data, the analysis of heat distribution data, the requirements for test reports and abnormal analysis, and provides recommendations on the number of heat distribution tests and the validity period for food thermal sterilization equipment.
This standard applies to the heat distribution testing of high-pressure stationary (vertical, horizontal, including spray type, all-water type), rotary, high-pressure basketless, water-pressure type, atmospheric pressure water bath continuous, atmospheric pressure tunnel continuous, atmospheric pressure steamers, water bath sterilization tanks (pools) and other thermal sterilization equipment that use steam, hot water, steam-air-water, and steam-air mixtures as heat transfer media.
This standard does not apply to the heat distribution testing of microwave heating and flame heating sterilization equipment.
