Scope

This standard specifies the high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for the determination of the prohibited substances Lecithofen and Ketothion in skincare cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of Lecithofen and Ketothion in creams, emulsions, and water-based cosmetics. The detection limits for Lecithofen and Ketothion using the high-performance liquid chromatography method are 7 mg/kg and 16 mg/kg, respectively, and the quantitative limits are 20 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, respectively; when using solid-phase extraction, the detection limits for Lecithofen and Ketothion are 3.5 mg/kg and 8 mg/kg, respectively; and the quantitative limits are 10 mg/kg and 25 mg/kg, respectively. The detection limits for Lecithofen and Ketothion using the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method are both 2 mg/kg, and the quantitative limits are both 6 mg/kg.
