Scope

This standard specifies the high-performance liquid chromatography determination method for 16 permitted sunscreen agents and eight other UV absorbing substances in cosmetics (see Table 1). This standard is applicable to cosmetics such as creams, emulsions, lotions, lipsticks, wax-based products, nail polishes, and powders. The detection limits and quantitative limits of the 16 permitted sunscreen agents and eight other UV absorbing substances in cosmetics are shown in Table 1.
