Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for reciprocating positive displacement pumps and pump units, but does not address their safety and testing requirements.
This standard applies to pumps driven by crankshafts and camshafts, as well as to direct-acting pumps driven by fluids.
This standard does not apply to reciprocating positive displacement pumps that transport media other than water, and where the entire pump is lubricated by the liquid being transported.
