Basic Information
Scope
Scope: This standard specifies the definition, requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of dried gray dates. This standard applies to the determination of quality grades for dried gray dates. Main technical content: Gray dates have an elongated oval fruit shape with a slightly thinner and slightly skewed body. The average fruit weight is 12.3 grams, and the maximum fruit weight is 13.3 grams. The fruit shoulder is round and slanted, relatively thin, and slightly raised. The stem pit is small and moderately deep. The fruit top is broad and round, with a slightly concave vertex. The fruit skin is orange-red. Before reaching the white ripening stage, it turns from green to gray, and when it enters the white ripening stage, it turns from gray to white. Alar enjoys abundant sunlight, large day-night temperature differences, and a favorable geographical location, which results in excellent quality of the grown gray dates. In recent years, the area of gray dates in Alar of the First Division has been on the rise, and they are well-liked by consumers. However, in actual production, most date farmers are unclear about the concept of date grading, often failing to sell good dates at good prices, causing significant losses for date farmers. To help farmers understand the concept of date grading in a simple and clear way and increase their income, the technical team has specifically developed a highly practical and actionable "Alar Dried Gray Date Quality Grading Standard" for farmers' reference.
