Scope

This standard specifies the routine detection and counting methods for aerobic thermophilic bacteria in cosmetics. The number of colonies on agar medium can be counted after aerobic cultivation, or the presence of bacterial growth after enrichment can be checked. This standard may not be suitable for the inspection of some samples, such as products that are difficult to dissolve in water and cleaning products. Other test methods that have been proven to have the same effect can be used instead. If necessary, the microorganisms detected and counted can be verified using the confirmatory methods listed in the references of this standard.
