Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, test principles, test equipment, specimens, conditioning, test procedures, calculations and result presentation, and test reports for determining the interlaminar shear strength of fiber-metal laminates using the short beam method. Appendix A provides the double beam method for reference.
This standard is applicable to thermoset or thermoplastic continuous fiber-reinforced metal laminates that can exhibit interlaminar shear failure.
