Scope

This standard specifies the structure and classification, materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of high-density polyethylene silicone core pipes (hereinafter referred to as "silicone core pipes"). This standard applies to silicone core pipes and related fittings used for protecting optical cables and electrical cables in underground direct burial, pipelines, and trench environments. This standard does not apply to silicone core pipes and related fittings used for protecting optical cables and electrical cables that are directly exposed to sunlight outdoors or subject to air blowing pressures greater than 1.2 MPa.
