Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions of the technology standards for the freshwater farming of South American white shrimp, including acclimatization, site selection for farms, pond conditions, aeration equipment, essential instruments and equipment, water for farming, preparation work before stocking, selection of shrimp larvae, farming of adult shrimp, water environment management and regulation, daily management, preventive measures for shrimp diseases, treatment of wastewater discharged from shrimp farming ponds, and shrimp harvesting. This document is applicable to the freshwater farming of South American white shrimp, with a suitable single yield target of 5,000-15,000 kg/ha.
