Scope
This document specifies the methods of sampling and displaying low-magnification microstructures of continuous casting steel billets, the classification and evaluation of defects, and inspection reports. This document is applicable to the evaluation of low-magnification microstructural defects in the cross-section of carbon steel and alloy steel billets (hereinafter referred to as billets) produced by the continuous casting process.
