Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for evaluating the water treeing of polyethylene (PE) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) composites, that is, evaluating the related performance of these composites under AC electrical stress and in the presence of water. The standard describes two test methods. Method I is used to evaluate the insulating materials alone, and Method II is used to evaluate the insulating interlayer of insulating composites covered with a semi-conductive shielding layer.
