Scope
This document describes a method for measuring the internal stress of ceramic coatings. The method applies the results of measuring the radius of curvature of strip-shaped or disc-shaped samples coated with ceramic coatings on one side to the Stoney formula to calculate the internal stress of the ceramic coatings.
This document is suitable for measuring the internal stress of ceramic coatings where the coating thickness is less than 10% of the substrate thickness, the sample contour curvature is spherical, the sample deformation is elastic, and the initial contour of the substrate is flat or the curvature is known.
