Scope

This document specifies the measurement procedures for image brightness and uniformity when the image plane or central image plane of a bright field microscope is suitable for detection by electronic imaging equipment.
This document defines how to measure the brightness and uniformity of the image, as well as the related information provided to users.
Note: This document is only applicable to the detection of the illumination characteristics of microscopes using electronic imaging equipment. If visual detection is performed through the eyepiece, additional measurement procedures are required, and this should be clearly specified in the description of the measurement procedures. Nevertheless, visual observation of the central image plane through the eyepiece will provide an effective evaluation of the image brightness.
