Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of air-source unitary air conditioners (heat pumps) (hereinafter referred to as "units").
This standard applies to heat pump water heaters (heat pumps) that are driven by electric motor compressors, use vapor compression refrigeration cycles, and use air as a heat source. They can simultaneously or concurrently provide domestic hot water and indoor air conditioning functions.
