Scope

This document specifies the requirements for securing facilities and securing points on road vehicles used for sea-based roll-on/roll-off ship transport, including their types and layouts, marking methods, and requirements for identification and signage.
This document applies to vehicles of classes N2, N3, and O3, O4 (excluding semi-trailers) and vehicle combinations they form, and vehicles used for sea-based roll-on/roll-off ship transport may refer to it for implementation.
This document does not apply to semi-trailers and specialized vehicles with only towing functions, nor to empty commercial vehicles transported by roll-on/roll-off ships solely for delivery purposes.
Note 1: For vehicles with parameters exceeding normal conditions (especially when the height of the center of gravity exceeds the normal range), the location and number of special securing points need to be considered.
Note 2: Appendix A provides the International Maritime Organization (IMO) recommended requirements for the layout of securing facilities widely used on roll-on/roll-off ships.
