GB/T 29088-2012 Corrosion of metals and alloys—Electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation measurement using the double loop method
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a method for evaluating the degree of sensitization (DOS) of stainless steel and nickel-based alloys using the double-loop electrochemical potential reactivation (DLEPR) test.
This standard is applicable to the quantitative measurement of alloy element-depleted regions formed by harmful thermal effects in grain boundaries or substrates.
Because the distribution of sensitized zones along the fusion line may be non-uniform, special attention should be paid when testing the heat-affected zone of welds.
The test results can be used as an indicator of the potential sensitivity of stainless steel and nickel-based alloys to intergranular corrosion, pitting corrosion, and intergranular stress corrosion cracking, but specific supplementary tests are still needed to predict the type of corrosion.
