Scope

This standard specifies the methods for determining the isomer ratio in toluene diisocyanate by infrared spectroscopy and gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of the proportion of the two isomers in mixtures of toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (2,4TDI) and toluene 2,6-diisocyanate (2,6TDI). In infrared spectroscopy, Test Method A is suitable for determining samples containing 5% to 95% 2,6TDI (95% to 5% 2,4TDI); Test Method B is suitable for determining samples containing 0% to 5% 2,6TDI (100% to 95% 2,4TDI).
