Scope

1.1 This standard is applicable to the determination of the particulate matter content of middle distillate fuels with a closed-cup flash point not lower than 38°C (determined using GB/T 261), and is not applicable to the determination of particulate matter in light distillate fuels (such as gasoline) or jet fuels. 1.2 The restriction on the particulate matter content in middle distillate fuels used for diesel engines and civilian purposes can prevent filter clogging and other operational problems. The measurement range of this standard is not more than 25 g/m3. 1.3 Only when the measurement is conducted in strict accordance with the provisions of this standard, especially when the filter membrane material (see Note 6.9), the sample quantity, and the complete filtration of the sample all comply with the requirements of this standard, can the accuracy of this standard be effective.
