Scope
This document specifies the principles to be followed when formulating ultrasonic inspection procedures for the following inspection objects:
——Stainless steel welds;
——Nickel-based alloy welds;
——Dual-phase steel welds;
——Welds of dissimilar metals;
——Austenitic steel welds.
The inspection purposes may vary, for example:
——Evaluation of quality grades during manufacturing.
——Detection of specific discontinuities arising during service.
This document does not include acceptance grades, but acceptance grades can be determined based on the scope of inspection (see 4.1).
This document is applicable to both manual and automatic inspections.
