Scope

This document applies to the hearing aid fitting management services provided by hearing aid fitters to clients. Providing hearing aids to clients relies on the knowledge and practical skills of hearing aid fitters to ensure that the hearing aid fitting is appropriate and the services are delivered in a timely manner, which is in line with the interests of clients with hearing loss. This document specifies the routine process of hearing aid fitting management from client registration to follow-up services, including all stages of implementing, organizing, and controlling hearing aid fittings. It also stipulates important prerequisites for ensuring the provision of appropriate services, such as the education level of personnel, venues, and facility systems. The focus of this document is on providing services to the majority of adult clients with hearing impairments. Children, individuals with other disabilities, or certain groups with hearing loss who use implantable hearing devices may require services beyond the scope of this document. This document generally applies to air conduction hearing aids, and in most cases, it also applies to bone conduction devices.
