Scope
This standard specifies the performance requirements for dosimeters used in radiation therapy. The dosimeter measures the water absorption dose (rate) or air kerma (rate) and its spatial distribution of photons, electrons, protons, or heavy ion radiation fields used in radiation therapy.
The dose monitoring systems provided by radiation therapy equipment and the well-type ionization chambers used to calibrate close-range therapy sources, as well as their stability testing devices, are not within the scope of this standard.
