Scope

This document specifies three methods for determining the long-term strength of plastic composite pipes and fittings: 1) Method I - Calculation method; 2) Method II - Extrapolation method of multi-temperature pressure resistance test; 3) Method III - Extrapolation method of specific temperature pressure resistance test.
This document is applicable to plastic composite pipes such as P-type multilayer pipes, M-type multilayer pipes, and reinforced thermoplastic composite pipes (RTP pipes), but it is not applicable to pipes composed of a single polymer stress design layer or a polymer outer protective layer that does not participate in stress design.
