Scope

This standard specifies the atomic absorption spectrometry method for determining lead and cadmium in mainstream cigarette smoke. This standard is applicable to the determination of lead and cadmium in mainstream cigarette smoke; the detection limits for lead are 25 ng/cig and for cadmium are 25 ng/cig (flame atomic absorption spectrometry) and 0.5 ng/cig (graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry).
