This standard applies to the production, inspection, and sale of methylene chloride produced by the methanol hydrochlorination process. This product is mainly used as a solvent, extractant, cleaning agent, foaming agent, and stripping agent, and is also used as a raw material in the production of hydrofluorocarbon-32 (HFC32) and in the pharmaceutical industry.
