Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions of black seed pumpkin seed production and seed production. This standard applies to the conventional seed production of black seed pumpkins in the arid-hot valley area of Jinsha River in Yunnan Province; Main technical contents: 1. Seedling cultivation 1.1 The substrate ratio is prepared by mixing Pinsel peat moss and pearlite in a ratio of 12:1. 1.2 Fill the tray: Pour the substrate into a 72-hole tray and scrape it into the tray with a wooden board, ensuring that the wooden board is tilted at a 45-degree angle to the front. 1.3 Break dormancy: Soak the seeds in a 2.5-5% concentration of hydrogen peroxide solution for 12 hours. 1.4 Seed soaking and germination: Soak the seeds for 5-6 hours; strictly control the temperature at 30-32°C, and generally germinate for 24 hours (i.e., the seeds turn white). 1.5 After seeding and tray filling, water the tray once, with the water volume ensuring that the bottom of the tray does not drip. Punch holes as close to the center of the tray as possible, with a hole depth of 1.5cm. Plant one seed per hole, and after planting, cover the seeds with a mixture of Pinsel peat moss and pearlite (with a preparation ratio of 60kg of Pinsel peat moss and 9kg of pearlite), and then water it thoroughly. 1.6 Seedling management: The seedling age of black seed pumpkins is generally 10-12 days, during which attention should be paid to water management and disease and pest control. Before seedling emergence, the substrate in the tray should be kept moist and not too dry. Before seedling transplantation, spray pesticides once to prevent diseases and pests. 2. Transplantation 2.1 Field selection requirements: The soil should be fertile, with convenient irrigation and drainage, and good isolation conditions.
