Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the alkali reserve in paper and paperboard.
This standard applies to paper and paperboard in which alkaline pigments or other alkaline substances are added during the production process to improve the paper's acid resistance.
This standard does not apply to laminated paper, printed paper, or other processed paper, as these papers have undergone further processing that may interfere with the determination of the paper's alkali reserve.
